Native Land
Hazy IPA
Juicy
We're intentionally launching two beers at once:
- this canned and draft beer offering, Native Land (all sales to several indigenous tribes upon whose land we live and work) and
- the draft-only Servant of the People (all sales to World Central Kitchen -- Ukraine)
As we witness the devastation of a people and its unique culture, we support World Central Kitchen and its efforts to feed and nourish the innocent citizens of Ukraine, trapped, sick, and dying in their homes by an invading dictator.
With Native Land, our intent is to reflect on our own history of the same on this land we call home. The place now called "Durham" is the ancestral and contemporary lands of the Eno, Skaruhreh/Tuscarora, Shakori, Lumbee, and Occaneechi people. Learn more about how we've come to know this.
We're proud to follow the lead of Albuquerque's Bow & Arrow Brewery (the first Native Woman-owned brewery), where, until very recently, our former brewer Ted served as Head Brewer.
To date, over 50 breweries have joined the Native Land collaboration to further visibility of Native people. To support and strengthen Native communities. And to give to Native organizations committed to ecological stewardship.
Know that every dollar of the can or pint you purchase supports the tribes upon whose land we reside.
As for the beer, Native Land is juicy, tropical, and citrusy. It's a lovely 6% ABV hazy beer that straddles the line of modern pale ale and IPA.
